Seattle Thunderbirds player Cason Machacek suspended for eight games | Hockey

The Western Hockey League has suspended Seattle Thunderbirds defenseman Cason Machacek for eight games after he made physical contact with an official during a game and because he is a repeat offender.

The league announced the suspension Monday, Feb. 27. The T-Birds have 10 games left in the regular season. Machacek sat out the Tuesday game at Tri-City.

Machacek made contact with an on-ice official during a Feb. 26 game against Tri-City. He has been suspended for times this season.
