Lunar eclipse glows above Kent

A total lunar eclipse combined with a supermoon was visible in the skies above Kent Sunday evening.

A supermoon occurs when a full or new moon makes its closest approach to Earth, causing the moon to look bigger and brighter than usual.

A supermoon combined with a total lunar eclipse, is a rare occurrence. The last one was in 1982, and another won’t happen again until 2033. The next lunar eclipse will be in 2018.
