A construction crew works in Kent on a wall at the southwest corner of 64th Avenue South and West Meeker Street where Seattle-based Goodman Real Estate is starting to build 308 apartments.

Goodman plans to construct three, four-story buildings with ground floor live/work units with large glass store-front type entries to encourage work-at-home occupations. The site was an empty, grassy lot prior to the city of Kent approving new apartments.

The property is just a short distance east from the new Marquee on Meeker Apartments under construction. Goodman staff did not respond to emails or calls from the Kent Reporter about a timeline for the project or other construction updates.

Goodman built The Platform Apartments downtown on West Smith Street in 2014 and the Signature Pointe Apartments, 25102 62nd Ave. S., in 1989.
