Washington State Patrol detectives are seeking witnesses to a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian Dec. 13, 2025 in Kent.

At about 11:47 p.m., State Patrol received a 911 call reporting a vehicle vs. pedestrian collision on State Route 516 (aka Kent Des Moines Road), just east of West Meeker Street, according to the State Patrol. Witnesses and fire personnel provided medical aid, but the pedestrian died at the scene.

Cipriano Valdovinos Pio, 55, of Kent, was killed in the collision, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The investigation determined the pedestrian was crossing the roadway when they were struck by a vehicle that fled the scene, according to the State Patrol. The driver fled eastbound on SR 516.

Based on debris recovered at the scene, detectives believe the suspect vehicle is a 2014 to 2017 Lexus IS F-Sport sedan, according to a Jan. 16 State Patrol press release. The vehicle is believed to have damage to the driver-side front bumper and driver-side headlight and is likely missing a piece of black plastic cowling from the lower driver-side corner of the front bumper.

Detectives are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has information about the vehicle to contact Detective Aidan Lawlor at Aidan.Lawlor@wsp.wa.gov.
