Morgan Reber recovered from the pain of a nasty auto accident 12 years ago to find comfort in her therapeutic profession.

The Kent woman overcame minor injuries from a 2003 accident with frequent chiropractic and massage care. Such treatment profoundly changed her life and altered her career choice.

“It made a complete difference in my life and to this day, I’ve had no issues,” Reber said. “I always knew that one day I wanted to be able to help people like that.”

Reber, a 1999 Kent-Meridian High School graduate, went on to become a licensed massage therapist, receiving certification from Portland’s East West College of the Healing Arts. She also completed pre- and perinatal massage training.

She worked for one company before deciding to open her own practice.

When a storefront vacancy opened in The Old Creamery Building in historic downtown Kent, Reber jumped at the chance to own and operate her own business – Cascara Body Works.

For Reber, it also was an opportunity to come home to family and friends.

“The historic part Kent is a good place to be and I love to see it grow,” said Reber, a member of the American Massage Therapy Association, Kent Downtown Partnership, and Kent Chamber of Commerce. “It’s just a great place to be.”

Reber offers a variety of relaxation massages and slow, gentle deep tissue massages. She also sells body treatment products at her studio, 201 W. Meeker St.

“It’s so fun,” she said of her work. “You meet nice people and make a positive change in their life.”

Reber’s business is dedicated to natural and organic treatments, customizing each session to meet the patient’s specific goals.
