See why Kent is ranked one of the 10 most diverse cities in the nation by tasting your way through five self-guided food trails.

A new webpage – TasteKent.com – caters to foodies and features one-of-a-kind breweries, restaurants and food festivals. Immerse yourself in local culture by sampling a range of flavors from Afghan cuisine to farm-to-bottle distilled spirits.

The Kent food scene has been in the spotlight with recognition from the Food Network, regional awards, and featured chefs on Julia Child’s “Baking with Julia.” Food famous? Not yet. The locales below can still be savored without big city lines or prices.

Now through Aug. 31, food enthusiasts can enter to win an Edible Escape to explore Kent’s food trails:

Downtown Dining Trail: Park the car and let your taste buds guide you through Kent’s historic downtown. Try flavorful chutney at one of the only Afghan restaurants in Washington state.

Farm Fresh Trail: From spring rhubarb to summer berries and a bounty of pumpkins in the fall, there are boundless ways to enjoy the harvest in Kent. Find locally sourced ingredients on menus around town.

International Eats Trail: Authentic Indian, Thai and Mexican dishes are just a few of the global cuisines on this flavorful trail. Visit the Ubuntu Street Café where immigrant and refugee trainees bring their cultural dishes to the menu through Project Feast.

Kid-Friendly Kitchen Trail: From favorite kid-approved dishes to more adventurous bites, there are plenty of options for kiddos in Kent. Head to Pie Lab where families can eat—and bake—mini pies and cheesecakes. Fill up on inexpensive burgers at the famous Dick’s Drive-In.

Local Libations Trail: Small-batch wineries offer intimate tastings of unique Washington red wines. Sip the award-winning, fruit-forward liqueurs produced in handmade copper stills from Portugal at Sidetrack Distillery. Beer fans can find the coveted Pilsner on tap at Airways Brewing.

Hungry? Treat your taste buds and pick a trail (or two) at TasteKent.com.
