GlycoBalance Reviews: What They Won’t Say!

GlycoBalance is a blood sugar support supplement marketed to anyone who wants to support blood sugar that’s already within a normal range.

By taking GlycoBalance daily, diabetics, pre-diabetics, and others struggling with blood sugar can purportedly use 13 science-backed ingredients to support blood sugar levels in various ways. The manufacturer recommends taking 1 capsule around lunch and another capsule around dinner.

Does GlycoBalance really work? How does GlycoBalance support blood sugar? Keep reading to discover everything you need to know about this blood sugar support formula.

What is GlycoBalance?

GlycoBalance is a diabetes supplement sold exclusively online through GoGlycoBalance.com.

Priced at $47 per bottle, GlycoBalance can purportedly support blood sugar using natural ingredients like bitter melon extract and cinnamon. GlycoBalance also contains biotin, chromium, banaba leaf extract, and other science-backed ingredients for supporting healthy blood sugar.

All GlycoBalance purchases are backed by a 60 day moneyback guarantee. If you don’t support your blood sugar using GlycoBalance, or if you’re unhappy with the supplement for any reason, then you can request a complete refund on your purchase.

GlycoBalance is made by a Minnesota-based supplement company.

How Does GlycoBalance Work?

GlycoBalance claims to offer powerful blood sugar support using 13 active ingredients in each capsule.

Just take one capsule of GlycoBalance around lunch, then take your second capsule around dinner. You could support blood sugar.

It’s important to note that GlycoBalance doesn’t claim to lower blood sugar, nor does it claim to help with other symptoms of diabetes. Instead, the supplement only claims to “help support healthy blood sugar levels already within the normal range.” If your blood sugar levels are outside of the normal range, then you should talk to a doctor – not rely on a supplement – to lower your blood sugar.

For maximum blood sugar support, you can also take three capsules of GlycoBalance daily (one with each meal). Some people take GlycoBalance during breakfast, lunch, and dinner for example to support blood sugar all day long.

GlycoBalance uses a 100% natural formula with no GMO ingredients. The supplement is made in an FDA-registered, GMP-certified facility.

GlycoBalance Ingredients

GlycoBalance contains a blend of herbs, plants, vitamins, and minerals linked to blood sugar support.

Some of the ingredients have been used for centuries for diabetes, blood sugar, obesity, and general health and wellness. Others are new compounds backed by modern research.

Here are all of the 13 ingredients in GlycoBalance and what they do, according to the manufacturer of GlycoBalance:

Banaba Leaf: GlycoBalance contains banaba leaf, an extract from a medium-sized tree. According to the manufacturer of GlycoBalance, banaba leaf has been used to support blood sugar for centuries. The manufacturer also claims banaba leaves have antioxidant effects, support cholesterol, and help support weight, among other benefits.

Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA): Alpha lipoic acid has antioxidant effects, and it’s found in many diabetes supplements for its ability to support blood sugar. According to the manufacturer of GlycoBalance, the ALA in their formula can also support a healthy inflammatory response and support nerve function, among other benefits.

Licorice Root: GlycoBalance contains licorice root for its active ingredient, glycyrrhizin. Studies show this natural chemical could have antioxidant and antimicrobial properties while supporting a healthy inflammatory response. There’s a reason licorice is found in many diabetes supplements: it’s been shown to support blood sugar in several studies. Licorice is also traditionally used for heartburn, acid reflux, hot flashes, and respiratory issues.

Cinnamon Bark Powder: Cinnamon bark powder has antioxidant effects and supports cell growth, insulin function, and blood sugar, according to the manufacturer of GlycoBalance. Like guggul, licorice, ALA, and banaba leaf, cinnamon bark is found in many popular diabetes supplements sold online today.

Bitter Melon: Bitter melon contains a blend of natural chemicals that could support healthy blood sugar. According to the manufacturer of GlycoBalance, bitter melon has been used to support diabetes, manage malaria, and even help with snakebites, among other benefits.

Gymnema Sylvestre: Gymnema sylvestre is a woody climbing shrub native to the tropical forests of India, Africa, and Australia. The leaves of the plant have played a crucial role in ancient Indian (Ayurvedic) medicine for centuries. According to the manufacturer of GlycoBalance, gymnema sylvestre has been used for similar purposes as bitter melon, helping with diabetes, malaria, and snakebites.

Cayenne Pepper Powder: GlycoBalance contains cayenne pepper powder, which has been used for both food and medicine for thousands of years. Typically found in weight loss supplements, cayenne pepper can stimulate your body’s circulation and reduce acidity, according to the manufacturer. However, the manufacturer does not claim cayenne pepper has any specific effect on blood sugar, insulin resistance, or symptoms of diabetes.

Juniper Berry Powder: GlycoBalance contains juniper, a berry that grows naturally around the northern hemisphere. Juniper can support healthy digestion and normal kidney function, according to the manufacturer of GlycoBalance.

L-Taurine: Taurine is an amino acid found in high concentrations in your brain, eyes, heart, and muscles. Your body uses most amino acids to build proteins, but it uses taurine for other purposes. Taurine is an essential amino acid that plays a crucial role in health and wellness.

White Mulberry Leaf Powder: GlycoBalance contains white mulberry leaf powder, an herb that is often powdered to create medicine. According to the makers of GlycoBalance, white mulberry is used to support blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure within a normal range, among other aspects of health and wellness.

Vitamins and Minerals: GlycoBalance contains significant doses of seven vitamins and minerals, each of which could support blood sugar in a different way. GlycoBalance contains 1,000% DV of biotin and 191% DV of chromium, for example. Both biotin (a B vitamin) and chromium (a mineral) have been linked to blood sugar support in multiple studies. GlycoBalance also contains vitamin C and vitamin E, two of nature’s best antioxidants, along with magnesium, zinc, and manganese. Diabetics, like anyone, need crucial vitamins and minerals to function. Each serving of GlycoBalance contains 30% to 1,000% of your daily recommended intake of multiple vitamins and minerals.

Scientific Evidence for GlycoBalance

The makers of GlycoBalance claim their formula is backed by “real science” and offers “real solutions” to people. So what’s the science behind GlycoBalance? What type of scientific evidence supports the use of GlycoBalance for diabetes and blood sugar?

GlycoBalance has not completed any clinical trials, and the makers of GlycoBalance do not claim to have formulated the supplement using a doctor, nutritionist, dietitian, or medical advisory board. It’s unclear how much medical expertise was involved in the creation of GlycoBalance – if any.

The GlycoBalance website does not cite any scientific studies validating the ingredients in the formula. Although some of the ingredients have been shown to support blood sugar in small studies, the manufacturer does not cite those studies on the official website, making it difficult to verify the ingredients and dosages in GlycoBalance work.

Biotin is the biggest ingredient in GlycoBalance. Each capsule of GlycoBalance contains 300mcg of biotin, or 1,000mcg of your daily recommended value. In this 2013 study, researchers tested the effects of biotin supplements on a group of patients with diabetes over a three month period. Researchers received 40mg/kg of biotin daily while also taking insulin. Researchers found biotin supplementation improved glycemic management and decreased plasma lipids in poorly controlled type 1 diabetic patients. In other words, biotin worked in conjunction with insulin to support healthy blood sugar (although participants received a much higher dose of biotin than used in GlycoBalance).

Many experts tell diabetics to take chromium supplements or add more chromium to their diet to help with insulin resistance. In this 2004 review, researchers found chromium was an essential mineral for overall health, blood sugar, and insulin resistance. After analyzing dozens of trials on chromium supplements, researchers found evidence suggesting that taking 200 to 1,000mcg of chromium as chromium picolinate per day could improve blood glucose control. GlycoBalance contains just 67mcg of chromium in the form of an amino acid chelate.

Guggul has been studied for its antidiabetic and antioxidant effects. In this study, for example, researchers gave guggul or a placebo to a group of diabetic rats. Researchers found guggul exhibited antidiabetic, antioxidant, and hypolipidemic effects in rats, suggesting it may be an effective remedy for diabetes patients. Nevertheless, more largescale research on humans is needed to verify the effects. And, researchers used a much higher dose of guggul than used in GlycoBalance (400 to 600mg per kg compared to 50mg total in GlycoBalance).

Dosage may be an issue with GlycoBalance. Most ingredients in GlycoBalance are found at very low doses (25mg to 50mg). These doses are lower than the doses used in most studies to date. Although it’s possible some of the ingredients work at these small doses, it’s unlikely for the average-sized person to experience significant blood sugar lowering effects at these doses.

Overall, GlycoBalance contains a collection of popular and proven blood sugar supporting ingredients that have been shown to work in several studies. The two biggest ingredients in GlycoBalance, biotin and chromium, could support blood sugar in diabetics in a small way. However, there’s little evidence that GlycoBalance is powerful enough to replace prescribed diabetes medication. When used to complement insulin and other doctor-prescribed treatments for diabetes, however, GlycoBalance may help support blood sugar – mostly due to ingredients like biotin and chromium.
