Des Moines Police took into custody a man who allegedly pistol-whipped two adults Friday morning, Feb. 28 at their home.

Police established probable cause for the arrest of Jason Russell Foster on multiple counts of felony assault following a violent attack at about 6:47 a.m., according to a Friday afternoon Des Moines Police press release.

Foster was taken into custody without incident Saturday, March 1 by Des Moines officers and detectives with the assistance of the Bonney Lake Police and Sumner Police, according to a March 1 Des Moines Police press release.

Foster was booked at 11:51 p.m. March 1 for a state Department of Corrections violation, according to jail records at the South Correctional Entity (SCORE jail) in Des Moines. SCORE is owned by the cities of Auburn, Burien, Des Moines, Renton, SeaTac and Tukwila.

Des Moines Police, in a press release Feb. 28 to help locate Foster, described him as armed and dangerous. He is 51 years old, 6 feet 1 inches tall and weighs 225 pounds. He has blue eyes and a shaved head. Police released a photo of Foster.

A 911 call reported that a man had entered a home and pistol-whipped two adults, according to police. Two children were inside the home at the time of the incident but were not harmed. Paramedics transported one adult to a hospital for treatment.

The victims reported they had hired Foster for construction work at the home, and the attack was random and unprovoked, according to police.

Law enforcement agencies, including Tukwila Police, Kent Police and the King County Sheriff’s Office, conducted an extensive search using a K-9 unit, drone and helicopter, but Foster was not located on Feb. 28.

Detectives expected Foster may still be in the Des Moines area, but his last known address was in Renton. Currently, no known vehicles are associated with him.
