The Kent School District offers free Child Find screenings for children ages 3-5 who may have a disability.

The Kent School District offers free Child Find screenings for children ages 3-5 who may have a disability.

Screenings will be in the areas of language, learning and motor development.

All screenings will be at the KSD Administrative Campus, 12033 SE 356th St.

Screening dates:

• Sept. 14, 21, 28

• Oct. 5

• Nov. 9, 16, 30

• Dec. 14

• Jan. 4, 11, 18, 25

• March 1, 8, 22, 29

• April 5, 26.

At least one parent must accompany the child at the screening. Screenings take approximately 1 1/2 hours and are conducted by certified staff.

The Lynden Memorial Scholarship program awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Kent’s Tyler Hansen. The program awards scholarship to children of Lynden company employees. Hansen, a Kentridge High School graduate, will attend the University of Arizona as a sophomore this fall. He will study business, attend the Honors College at the university. During Hansen’s first year of college, he was awarded the dean’s list with distinction and carried a 4.00 GPA. He also participated in and enjoys intramural softball. The Lynden family of companies’ capabilities includes truckload and less-than-truckload transportation, scheduled and charter barges, intermodal bulk chemical hauls, scheduled and chartered air freighters, domestic and international air forwarding, international ocean forwarding, trade show shipping, and logistics for the rail industry, remote site construction, sanitary bulk commodities hauling, and multi-modal logistics
