Firefighters extinguish brush fire on West Hill in Kent

Fire broke out Tuesday evening, Aug. 16; four fire departments responded

Puget Sound Fire with assistance from three other departments extinguished a brush fire Wednesday evening, Aug. 16 in the 3300 block of South 260th Street in Kent on the West Hill.

Firefighters were dispatched at about 7:34 p.m. to the fire, according to Puget Sound Fire. The fire was about 200 feet by 100 feet in medium fuel and timber.

Kent-based Puget Sound Fire and Federal Way-based South King Fire & Rescue initially were dispatched. A second alarm added units from Renton Regional Fire Authority, Port of Seattle Fire Department and Medic One.

Crews controlled the fire and stayed on site to put out hotspots.
