As often happens during heavy rain in Kent, city Public Works crews have closed a portion of East James Street as well as 76th Avenue South, due to flooding from Mill Creek.
East James Street is closed between Central Avenue North and 94th Avenue South, according to a 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 5 update by Public Works. 76th Avenue South is closed between South 212th Street and South 228th Street.
Other traffic impacts include water over the roadway at:
• West James Street between Washington Ave. N to Lincoln Ave., under the 167 overpass
• 124th Avenue SE from SE Kent Kangley Road to SE 270th St.
• 81st Ave S. at S. 196th St.
Public Works staff advises drivers to please avoid driving through standing water; alternate routes advised.
