Seattle Police arrested a 26-year-old Kent man March 24 at his home in connection with an attempted robbery and shooting March 13 at a downtown Seattle parking garage.

The man was taken into custody without incident as he left his Kent home, according to the Seattle Police. He was arrested for investigation of robbery and assault. He was booked into the King County jail.

Officers responded to 911 calls at about 9:02 p.m. March 13 to an attempted robbery with a man shot at a parking garage in the 700 block of First Avenue, according to the police.

Officers found a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest. Paramedics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The investigation by detectives indicates that a man approached another man near his car on the second level of the parking garage and demanded his money. The man declined to give up any money and attempted to walk away at which point the suspect reportedly pulled out a handgun and shot the man in the chest. The man who had been shot jumped from the second level of the garage to escape. The suspect fled on foot.
