Kent Police arrested a man for investigation of harassment after he allegedly threatened his wife with a knife after she declined to have sex with him.

A daughter of the couple called 911 to report the incident at about 1:57 a.m. on Nov. 16 at an apartment in the 25800 block of 26th Place South, according to the police report.

The wife told police her husband became upset because she declined to have sex with him. He then accused her of cheating on him. The woman denied having an affair.

The husband grabbed a large butcher knife from the kitchen and reportedly pointed the knife at his wife in a threatening manner and said, “I’m going to kill you and myself.”

When police interviewed the husband, he told them he had no choice but to kill himself because his reputation is at risk if his wife is having an affair. He denied threatening his wife.

Police transported the man to the city jail.

Assault

Officers arrested a man for investigation of fourth-degree assault after he reportedly grabbed his daughter around the neck during a dispute at about 10:30 p.m. on Nov. 16 at a home in the 26700 block of Bristol Court.

The man and his wife argued about their relationship, according to the police report.

The husband told officers he had married the woman in September in Las Vegas and that he lived with her and her three children. He said his wife became upset because several women had wished him a happy birthday on his Facebook page. He said the women were co-workers.

Although the couple stopped arguing after a morning dispute, the argument resumed in the evening when the man told his wife he wanted a divorce. The husband said his wife and one of her daughters started to hit him with open hands. The daughter said the man grabbed her by the neck during the dispute.

Officers were unable to determined a primary aggressor between the husband and wife, but arrested the husband for grabbing the teenage girl by the neck.

Theft

Police arrested a man for investigation of third-degree theft and possession of a legendary drug without a prescription on Nov. 17 at the Kmart store, 24800 W. Valley Highway.

A store loss prevention officer said the man had taken a portable DVD player from the store with no attempt to pay for the item, according to the police report. The man had concealed the DVD player in his jacket.

Police discovered the man also had a warrant. When they searched the man, they found a plastic baggie with what later tested positive for having crystal meth inside of it. He also had three used needles.

The man admitted to officers that he used meth. The man also had about 25 white pills in his possession but no prescription for the pills.

Drug paraphernalia

Officers arrested a man for investigation of possession of drug paraphernalia after he was spotted at about 11:05 p.m. on Nov. 16 at a residential construction site in the 26500 block of Pacific Highway South.

The man had appeared to set up a makeshift bed at a building on the site, according to the police report.

Police discovered a glass pipe and syringes in the man’s possession.
