A sampling of Kent Police incidents Nov. 13-29:

Nov. 13

• Stolen vehicle pursuit: Officers received a Flock notification (cameras in town that capture license plate numbers) regarding a stolen vehicle traveling westbound on Kent-Kangley Road from 132nd Avenue SE. Officers located the vehicle and authorized a pursuit as it traveled through downtown Kent toward Kent Des Moines Road. The pursuit concluded at Kent Des Moines Road and 20th Avenue South in Des Moines after officers deployed spike strips and deflated three tires. Officers conducted a high-risk stop in coordination with Des Moines Police. Four juveniles were detained without incident. The driver was booked into juvenile detention, and the passengers were cited and released to their guardians. No injuries or damages to police vehicles were reported.

Nov. 14

• Attempted carjacking: 1:57 a.m., officers responded to a report of an attempted carjacking at the Brown Bear Car Wash, 1500 W. Meeker St. The victim reported that an individual approached them while they were in their vehicle, displayed a firearm, and demanded the car. The victim fled the scene and contacted 911. The suspect was not located.

• Order violation: Officers responded to a suspicious circumstance near 104th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 260th Street. The incident developed into an active order violation. Following an attempted vehicle stop, the suspect fled on foot into a wooded area. Officers conducted a K-9 track and coordinated with the King County Sheriff’s Office Guardian One helicopter but could not locate the suspect. Probable cause was established for felony charges.

Nov. 15

• Apartment shooting: 1:44 a.m., officers were dispatched to the Grandview Apartments, 3900 Veterans Drive, regarding reports of an illegal discharge. Witnesses reported several shots fired and a vehicle fleeing the area. Officers located and stopped the vehicle upon arrival, detaining the driver and passenger without incident. The vehicle exhibited numerous bullet holes on the driver’s side, some originating from inside the vehicle. Officers identified the crime scene near Building A, recovering more than 35 shell casings of various calibers. Apartments A-103 and A-105 were occupied at the time and were struck by gunfire. Probable cause was not established, and the detained individuals were released.

Nov. 16

• Assaults: Officers investigated two related incidents. In the first case, a woman assaulted another individual during a confrontation. Shortly after, officers responded to a domestic disturbance involving the same suspect. The individual was taken into custody and arrested for investigation of both incidents.

• Hit-and-run: Officers responded to a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian near the Quality Inn, 1711 W. Meeker St., and Meeker Street Bar and Grill. The victim sustained severe injuries, and the vehicle fled the scene. The case was transferred to the traffic unit for further investigation.

• Medical emergency: Officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Clark Avenue North for a reported medical emergency. Upon arrival, officers discovered a person had died, apparently after suffering a medical incident while preparing a bath. Child Protective Services (CPS) was notified and took custody of a minor found in the home.

Nov. 23

• 7-Eleven robberies: 2:50 a.m., officers responded to an armed robbery at 7-Eleven, 1200 Central Ave. N.. While officers were en route, two additional armed robberies occurred at separate convenience stores. It is believed these incidents are related. In the first incident, the suspects followed a customer into the store, where they pointed a firearm at the customer and cashier. The suspects stole money and car keys from the customer and cash from the clerk before fleeing in both their vehicle and the victim’s vehicle. Further investigation showed three suspects quickly robbed two 7-Eleven stores on Central Avenue. The same suspects are believed to be responsible for similar robberies at 7-Eleven stores in neighboring jurisdictions earlier in the week. The vehicle used in the robberies was recovered in Federal Way on the evening of Nov. 23. Two to three suspects were apprehended after fleeing from the vehicle. They were later transferred to Auburn Police Department custody for charges related to probable cause. The recovered vehicle was impounded and processed for evidence, including fingerprint analysis.

Nov. 24

• Racing vehicle crashes: A collision occurred involving two vehicles near 104th Avenue SE and SE 248th Street. At approximately 50 mph, a witness observed a Toyota Corolla, traveling at high speeds while racing other vehicles. A Nissan minivan, was westbound on SE 244th Street, turning southbound onto 104th Avenue SE when it was reportedly struck on the driver’s side by the Corolla. The impact caused significant intrusion into the Nissan. The driver of the Nissan was extricated by fire personnel and transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with severe head and internal trauma. The driver of the Corolla exited the vehicle and was located walking along 104th Avenue SE. The driver reportedly admitted to consuming eight beers before driving.

Nov. 25

• Gunshot wound: 8:01 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a gunshot victim who had arrived at Covington MultiCare Hospital, 17700 SE 272nd St. Dispatch indicated that the individual sustained a gunshot wound to the left hand, which reportedly occurred near a bank in Kent. Officers contacted the victim, who stated they had just deposited money at the bank located in the Safeway shopping center at 108th Avenue SE and SE 208th Street. While walking home, the victim was approached by a masked individual who demanded money and a phone. The victim ran, heard a gunshot, and subsequently experienced pain in their hand.

Nov. 26

• Robbery near church: Officers responded to a robbery case where a transient individual was reportedly assaulted and robbed near Kent Lutheran Church, 336 Second Ave. S., by a known suspect recently released from the city of Kent jail. Officers obtained a detailed suspect description, located the individual nearby, and arrested them for robbery.

Nov. 29

• Gun displayed: 6:20 p.m., officers responded to a collision in the O’Reilly Auto Parts parking lot at 221 Washington Ave. N. Upon arrival, officers discovered a minor collision had occurred, during which a family member of one of the drivers reportedly displayed a firearm. The family member was arrested, and the weapon was secured.
