A sampling of Kent Police incidents Oct. 24 to Nov. 7:

Oct. 24

• Carjacking: 4:58 a.m., officers responded to 7-Eleven, 511 Central Ave. S., to take a report of a carjacking. The reporting party stated that they exited their vehicle to investigate a strange noise and were subsequently robbed at gunpoint, resulting in the theft of their vehicle, which remains outstanding.

• Felon arrest: An officer conducted a traffic stop in the Quality Inn parking lot, 1711 W. Meeker St. When confronted by the officer, the driver exited the vehicle and began to walk away. The suspect then concealed a MAC 10 gun on top of a parked vehicle. The individual was arrested after backup arrived. The suspect, a convicted felon, was booked into King County jail for violation of the Uniform Firearms Act and has pending felony firearm cases.

• Juvenile fight: 11:14 p.m., patrol responded to 3900 Veterans Drive for a report of a large fight. Approximately 15 juveniles were reported to be fighting, some armed with bats, knives and other objects. Upon arrival, the patrol found that the fighting had ceased. Interviews revealed that the altercation had originated at school and had developed into an ongoing issue between several groups of juveniles.

Oct. 25

• Wanted man caught: an individual wanted for two counts of child molestation of a minor by Nampa (Idaho) Police with a bail set at $1 million was taken into custody without incident.

Oct. 26

• Comcast cable damage: 5:30 a.m., patrol responded to SE 233rd Street and 132nd Avenue SE for damage to a Comcast site. The Comcast representative reported that cables had been cut around 2:30 a.m. While nothing had been taken, the estimated damage at this site was approximately $30,000.

• Cleaners robbery: 9:30 p.m., units were dispatched to Lake Meridian Cleaners, 15220 SE 272nd St., for two subjects refusing to leave the business. Dispatch reported hearing yelling in the background and subsequently advised that one of the subjects had brandished a utility knife. One victim locked himself inside the business while the suspects remained outside. Probable cause was established for robbery and burglary. Both suspects were arrested, and the knife was recovered. One suspect was booked into King County jail, while the other was interviewed and released.

Oct. 28

• Shell station robbery: 3:57 a.m., officers were dispatched to a Shell Gas Station for a robbery. The suspect did not harm the cashier but threatened to do so if the cashier did not provide money from the register. The suspect was given approximately $1,000 in cash and fled the area. A K-9 track was conducted, but the suspect was not located.

Oct. 29

• Stolen vehicle pursuit: An officer located an occupied stolen vehicle traveling southbound on 132nd Avenue SE. The vehicle entered a residential area, where the officer attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled southbound. The pursuit continued westbound on SE 256th Street, where spike strips were deployed near 116th Avenue SE. The vehicle proceeded westbound and turned eastbound on Kent Kangley Road, where it eventually rear-ended another vehicle in front of a grocery store at 132nd Avenue SE. The driver, accompanied only by a small dog, exited the vehicle while moving at approximately 20-25 mph and fled southbound toward Birch Creek Apartments. During the escape, the driver dropped a firearm magazine and later the firearm itself. Following a foot pursuit, the suspect was apprehended at Birch Creek. The unoccupied vehicle continued eastbound, crossing the median and striking several westbound vehicles. Only minor injuries were reported.

• Market damage: 11:37 p.m., officers responded to an alarm at Hong Kong Market, 320 E. Meeker St., and discovered several broken windows, though no entry appeared to have been made. While checking the area, another alarm was triggered at a nearby business. Officers observed a suspect attempting to flee on foot and apprehended the individual at the scene, while a second suspect fled in a vehicle. Aerial support was used to track the suspect vehicle to Tacoma, where the suspect switched to a second vehicle. The individual was eventually apprehended with the assistance of a K-9 unit.

Oct. 31

• Warehouse alarm: 9:06 p.m., officers responded to an alarm at a construction company at 20400 84th Ave. S. Officers discovered two vehicles on site, one of which attempted to flee. Following a brief pursuit, one occupant was apprehended. The business, a tool warehouse, had been previously targeted.

• Unattended child: An officer was dispatched to investigate a report of a young child left unattended in a room at a local establishment. The child was found upset and unable to locate their guardian. Upon the guardian’s return, they were taken into custody on charges of neglect.

Nov. 6

• Attempted robbery: 11:03 p.m.,, patrol responded to an attempted robbery at 10600 SE 250th Place. The victim reported that, while outside with her dog, an unknown individual approached her and tried to take her wedding ring. The victim attempted to deter the suspect and sustained minor injuries. Officers responded swiftly to the scene, utilizing K-9 support and Guardian helicopter resources in an extensive search, but could not locate the individual.

Nov. 7

• Baja Fresh alarm: 11:51 p.m., patrol responded to a verified alarm at Baja Fresh at 8800 S. 180th Street. Officers found that entry had been gained through a pried-open window. The premises were found vacant, and video footage, reviewed on-site with an employee, revealed a possible suspect.
