A sampling of Kent Police incidents Sept. 24 to Oct. 6:

Sept. 24

• Hong Kong Market arson: 10:58 a.m., officers and Puget Sound Fire responded to an arson at Hong Kong Market, 320 E. Meeker St. They found a small portion of the building and some electrical conduits damaged by fire overnight. While reviewing video footage, officers identified a subject based on a previous encounter.

• Take my children: Officers were flagged down before their shift by a woman asking them to arrest her children, ages 8 and 10. It was determined that she was living in a vehicle at a local park and ride, and her children were living in poor conditions. The officers conducted a welfare check, and the children were taken into protective custody and later released to state Child Protective Services (CPS).

Sept. 25

• Attempted robbery arrest: Officers responded to a trespass call at the Quality Inn, 1711 W. Meeker St., assisting with detaining two trespassers. During the incident, a male exited the building, matching the suspect’s description in an attempted robbery case. The officer recognized the male’s distinctive facial tattoos and other facial features, leading to probable cause for arrest. The officer detained the male and confirmed his identity by comparing photos from a bulletin. The suspect later reportedly admitted to being involved in the robbery.

• Shots fired: 8:37 p.m., officers responded to an illegal discharge near 25400 104th Ave. SE. A witness reported seeing an individual exit a vehicle and fire toward another person. The intended target fled and was unharmed. Officers found shell casings at the scene.

Sept. 26

• Cars on fire: Officers were dispatched to the Alvista 240 Apartments, 24028 110th Pl. SE, for a fire report. Six vehicles and a carport were engulfed in flames. A gas can and a tool kit were located nearby, possibly related.

• Tow truck driver attack: Officers responded to a report of a tow truck driver being assaulted during a repossession attempt. The driver was attacked by a suspect using a stolen vehicle. The vehicle was later recovered in Seattle, and the case remains under investigation.

Sept. 27

• Pac Highway robberies: 12:34 p.m., officers responded to armed robberies along Pacific Highway South. A suspect robbed several locations, including Pizza Hut, 23321 Pacific Highway S., and Cutters Point, 25246 Pacific Highway S., using a pistol to demand money. At Cutters Point, the suspect also took cash from two employees before fleeing.

Sept. 30

• Subway robbery: 8:40 p.m., officers responded to a reported armed robbery at Subway, 8400 S. 212th St. The victim reported two armed suspects who demanded she open the cash register. The suspects fled with cash. A K-9 track was initiated but was unsuccessful in locating the suspects.

Oct. 3

• Stabbing: 4:06 a.m., officers responded to a stabbing at 23600 126th Ave. SE. Upon arrival, officers found the victim standing in the street, bleeding from multiple stab wounds. After tending to the victim, officers obtained a search warrant for the house. The residence was cleared, and no additional victims or suspects were found. Through investigative work, officers were able to identify the suspect using photographs.

Oct. 4

• Shots fired: 1:18 a.m., officers responded to shots fired at the Central Flats Apartments, 1024 Central Ave. N. Officers spoke with the intended target, who reported receiving threats, including a text message saying “come outside” just before the shooting. Several shell casings were found at the scene, but the suspect was not located.

• More shots fired: 4:47 p.m., officers responded to a reported shooting near the Central Flats Apartments, 1024 Central Ave. N. No one was injured, but officers were able to identify a suspect vehicle. The case is still under investigation.

Oct. 5

• Shots fired at vehicle: 1:03 a.m., officers responded to 100 E. James St., for a shooting. The victims reported being shot at while in their vehicle at West Cole Street and Third Avenue. The vehicle had one bullet impact, but neither of the occupants was injured.

Oct. 6

• Threats with knife: Officers were dispatched to Valley Mobile Manor, 856 Central Ave. S., for a report of threats involving a knife. The report indicated the suspect, known to officers from previous contacts, was making threats toward a male and female in the residence. The male suspect fled the scene in a gray Dodge. This is an ongoing investigation.

• Residential burglary: 11:55 a.m., officers responded to a residential burglary in the 20000 block of 107th Pl. SE. The victim reported a suspect had broken into their home, stolen multiple items, and fled before officers arrived. A search warrant was executed, and evidence was collected from the scene.
