The Kent-based South King Early Intervention Program will receive a $25,000 grant as part of the Chase Community Giving Fall Celebration on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Pike Place Market in Seattle.
The Kent program works to empower families within their communities and children within their families. The group’s goal is to help children, ages birth to 3 with developmental delays and disabilities, achieve their full potential while helping parents and caregivers develop confidence and competence they need to support their child.
Chase will award $100,000 in grants. The other recipients are Pigs Peace Sanctuary, of Stanwood, which helps abused and neglected animals; and Seattle-based Abused Deaf Women’s Advocacy Services.
The celebration event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include free, fall-themed activities for families. The awards ceremony is at noon at the Chase tent, at the intersection of Pike Place and Pine Street in front of the Market.
Chase Community Giving Western Washington is a localized version of the national, crowd-sourced Chase Community Giving program which has provided a share of more than $28 million to thousands of charities since 2009.
This year a total of 1,163 charities were nominated in Western Washington by Chase customers and employees for the opportunity to share in $100,000 in grants. The participation of these organizations in the Western Washington program is in addition to participation in the national grant program. The three grant recipients in Western Washington were selected by a local Chase Advisory Board.
