A report of threats with a weapon drew a large Kent Police response Thursday afternoon, April 24 to the 700 block of Central Avenue South.
A witness told the Kent Reporter that as many as a dozen police vehicles responded to the scene, including officers armed with rifles near a business.
But after about one hour and 10 minutes, police cleared the scene as no threats were found.
“The call originated at 4:10 p.m. and was dispatched as threats with a weapon in the area of 700 Central Avenue South,” said Kent Police Assistant Chief Jarod Kasner in an April 12 email to the Kent Reporter.”The response and investigation concluded that there was no probable cause for the threats, and no one was charged with a crime nor was anyone arrested. Units cleared the scene around 5:20 p.m.”
