A 54-year-old man killed at a homeless encampment in Kent has been identified as Randall Cantrell.

Cantrell died from blunt force trauma to the head and the manner of death is homicide, according to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Officers responded at about 12:20 p.m. March 28 to the 10900 block of SE 256th Street on the East Hill, according to Kent Police. First responders told officers they found Cantrell unconscious and unresponsive with obvious trauma to his head.

Paramedics transported Cantrell to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he later died from his injuries.

Detectives reported they had limited information early in the investigation as they interviewed witnesses and collected evidence.

Police have not made an arrest or released any suspect information.
