Raiders silence T-Birds, 3-0

The Prince Albert Raiders shut out the Seattle Thunderbirds 3-0 Friday night at the Art Hauser Centre in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.

The Prince Albert Raiders shut out the Seattle Thunderbirds 3-0 Friday night at the Art Hauser Centre in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan.

Prince Albert goalie Luke Siemens (12-4-0-2) stopped all 28 Seattle shots to get the shutout.

This was the T-Birds fifth game of a six-game road trip to the East Division. The T-Birds finish out the road trip at 5:05 p.m. Saturday against the Saskatoon Blades at the Credit Union Centre.

Prince Albert (13-5-0-2) opened the scoring with a power-play goal by Mark McNeil at 11:17 of the first period. Mike Winther and Leon Draisaitl had the assists.

Seattle (8-10-1-0) outshot Prince Albert 8-6 in the first period.

The Raiders extended the lead to 2-0 when Dakota Conroy scored at 6:06 of the second period, just after a power play ended. Jonas Knutsen and Logan McVeigh had the assists.

The Raiders outshot the T-Birds 17-9 in the second period and led 23-17 in shots after two periods.

Winther gave the Raiders a 3-0 lead at 8:46 of the third period. McNeil and Josh Morrissey had the assists.

The T-Birds outshot the Raiders 11-8 the third period but Prince Albert finished the game with a 31-28 advantage in shots.

Seattle goalie Brandon Glover stopped 28 of 31 shots and his record is now 7-7-1-0.

T-Birds single game tickets for the 2012-13 season are available online at the T-Birds website and at the ShoWare Center box office. The ShoWare Center Box Office is open Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday game days at 10 a.m. and Sunday game days at noon.

T-Birds season tickets are on sale. Season tickets can be purchased by calling the T-Birds office at 253-239-7825.
