A renovation of a Kent senior housing apartment complex also has resulted in a new name for the 378 units.
Tri-Court Senior Living is the new name for the apartments run by Seattle-based Senior Housing Assistance Group (SHAG). The former names include Green River Court, 1401 W. Meeker St.; Meeker Court, 24420 64th Ave. S.; and Park Court, 24510 64th Ave. S.
The renovations will create new features and amenities to be shared as one campus, emphasizing a sense of community and healthy living, according to a SHAG media release.
Hundreds of moderate income seniors will now have easy access to a fitness center, a game room and a media center. Other changes include providing a community van, an electric car and community pea patch planters for resident use.
“This is an independent living community with active, engaged seniors,” said SHAG Executive Director Jay Woolford. “The fact that our residents will now have shared computers, work out equipment and have expanded rooms to be social in is in keeping with SHAG’s vision to have engaged senior communities.”
An active community calendar will become a focal point of The Tri-Court experience. SHAG works with community organizations to create life enhancement activities for residents and group outings.

The Washington State Housing Finance Commission is funding the project through the issuance of $15.9 million in tax-exempt bonds and the allocation of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits with the estimated value of $5.4 million.
