People can go watch the historic UFO film “The Maury Island Incident” and help raise funds for the Greater Kent Historical Society.

Catch a screening of the film at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 10, at the East Wing Auditorium at Kent-Meridian High School. Tickets are a suggested donation of $20 and available at http://bit.ly/1HMCEpA as well as at the door.

The 30-minute film tells the story, taken from declassified FBI documents, of Harold Dahl’s June 21, 1947 alleged UFO sighting near Maury Island and the first reported “Man in Black” encounter that reportedly happened to him the next day. Maury Island is a small Puget Sound island near Vashon Island.

Scott Schaefer directed and produced the 2014 film. The film has also been turned into an “Original Series” and can be found on Hulu and Indieflix.

Filmmakers will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the film and story afterwards.

After the Maury Island film, attendees can watch a special presentation of “No Confession: J. Edgar Hoover and The Maury Island Incident.”
