Snow caused the Kent School District to close schools on Monday, Feb. 3.
“Because the weather conditions worsened overnight and out of an abundance of caution, we are closing schools and the administration campus,” according to a district statement. “With our district covering over 72 square miles, we must consider all our district’s geography from the foothills to the valley.”
With the closure, all school activities and athletics are canceled as well as community use of district facilities.
The district announced Sunday evening that schools would be on a 2-hour delay with a note that things could change Monday morning.
