Sunrise Elementary teacher in Kent gets Star 101.5 Teacher of the Week award

Early last month, Sunrise Elementary teacher Chris Knutkowski, was named STAR 101.5’s Teacher of the Week in a local contest conducted by the radio show. Knutkowski, a first-grade teacher, was nominated by her student, Zachary Cohen.

Early last month, Sunrise Elementary teacher Chris Knutkowski, was named STAR 101.5’s Teacher of the Week in a local contest conducted by the radio show. Knutkowski, a first-grade teacher, was nominated by her student, Zachary Cohen.

STAR 101.5’s Afternoon Show host Curt Kruse made a surprise visit to Knutkowski’s Sunrise Elementary classroom. Ronald McDonald came along to celebrate, too.

Each of Knutkowski’s students received a goody bag full of prizes from a variety of sponsors.

Knutkowski received a personalized plaque, a $100 check from Acura of Seattle at Southcenter, a Flightseeing trip for two from Kenmore Air and a prize pack including an autographed Seahawks Jersey from City University of Seattle. She also has been entered as one of 12 teachers who could win a $5,000
