The Seattle Thunderbirds came back from a two-goal deficit late in the second period by scoring six unanswered goals to skate past the Tri-City Americans 8-4 Thursday night at the Toyota Center in Kennewick.

The T-Birds have now won three consecutive games. They face the Everett Silvertips at 7:35 Friday night at Comcast Arena in Everett. They finish out the weekend on Saturday night against the Portland Winterhawks at 7:05 at ShoWare Center.

Six T-Birds had two or more points in the win.

Seattle (15-13-1-0) took a 1-0 lead at 8:55 of the first period when Seth Swenson scored. Jesse Forsberg moved the puck from the left point to Connor Sanvido in the left corner. Sanvido came up the boards and centered the puck to Swenson in the left circle. Swenson snapped the puck past Tri-City goalie Eric Comrie for his ninth goal of the season.

Tri-City (17-11-1-1) tied the game 1-1 on a goal from Parker Bowles at 12:29 of the first. Brian Williams and Connor Rankin had the assists.

Williams scored unassisted goal at 19:37 of the first to put the Americans in front 2-1.

The Americans outshot the T-Birds 16-5 in the first period.

The T-Birds tied the game 2-2 on a shorthanded goal by Luke Lockhart at 10:06 of the second period. Brendan Rouse fought for the puck with several Americans behind and to the right of the Americans goal. Rouse was able to move the puck towards the slot to a wide open Lockhart. Lockhart leaned into a slap shot and beat Comrie for his 12th goal of the season.

Tri-City jumped out to a two-goal lead on goals from Malte Stromall at 11:41 and Beau McCue at 12:34 of second. Mitch Topping and Comrie had the assists on Stromwall’s goal, which came on the power play. Tyson Dallman had the only assist.

The T-Birds came right back when Swenson scored the first of three goals in 2:04 late in the second. Sanvido gained the Americans zone on the left side, cut towards the high slot and put a wrist shot on goal. Comrie made the save but Swenson grabbed the rebound, moved to his right and beat Comrie high for his second of the night.

Tri-City was called for delay of game with just over two minutes left in the period giving Seattle a chance to tie the game on the power play. They did just that when Roberts Lipsbergs scored from the slot at 18:04 of the second. Lockhart had the puck along the right boards when he spotted Lipsbergs in the slot. Lipsbergs beat Comrie over the glove to extend his point streak to 10 games and his goal streak to five games. Lipsbergs has 12 goals and four assists in the point streak.

Sanvido put the T-Birds in front 5-4 at 18:42 of the third. He collected a loose puck in the neutral zone and skated into the Tri-City zone on the right side. He came down the wing and put a hard wrist shot on goal from the bottom of the right circle that beat Comrie over his blocker. It was Sanvido’s third point of the game.

The T-Birds outshot the Americans 16-12 in the first period but the Americans had a 28-21 advantage in shots after two periods.

Alexander Delnov gave the T-Birds a two-goal lead when he scored at 2:31 of the third period. Connor Honey moved the puck to Lipsbergs who got it to Delnov breaking in alone against Comrie. Delnov beat the Americans goalie through the legs for his 10th goal of the year.

Seattle went in front 7-4 at 10:43 of the third. Rouse sent the puck from the left point to Forsberg at center ice inside the blue line. Forsberg wristed the puck at Comrie with Riley Sheen in front of the goalie. Sheen tipped Forsberg’s shot past Comrie for his seventh goal of the season.

Sanvido scored a shorthanded empty-net goal at 18:41 of the third to get the T-Birds eighth goal. Rouse had an assist on the goal to give him three assists in the game.

Tri-City outshot Seattle 37-34 in the game.

Seattle goalie Brandon Glover stopped 33 of 37 shots and his record improves to 14-10-1-0.

Comrie faced 33 shots and made 26 saves to have his record fall to 15-11-1-.
