Traffic drums to help provide safety for walking to new Kent school

River Ridge Elementary along Military Road South

Traffic drums will be in place along the northbound fog line on Military Road South about 100 feet north of the Veterans Drive intersection in Kent.

The barrels will remain until a time to be determined as an added buffer for the children walking to and from the new River Ridge Elementary School that opens Thursday, Aug. 26 at 22420 Military Road S., in SeaTac, according to the city of Kent Public Works Department.

The school is part of the Kent School District and sits just north of the city of Kent border.

Traffic control and signage will be in place for the temporary safe walking route.
