Following a 911 call on April 24 of a shooting in Newcastle, King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) confirmed that three people were found dead in a townhouse.
According to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, the three who died at the scene on April 24 were 14-year-old male Dhruva Kikkeri, whose cause of death was a gunshot wound of the head and the manner of death was a homicide; 44-year-old female Shwetha Panyam, whose cause of death was gunshot wounds of the head and torso and the manner of death was a homicide; and 44-year-old male Harshavardhana Kikkeri, whose cause of death was a perforating contact handgun wound of the head and the manner of death was suicide.
Law enforcement arrived at the 7000 block of 129th Street after 8 p.m. and did not leave until late into the night, after 3:45 a.m. A young family lived in the home, according to a KOMO News interview with neighbor Cathy Dunbar.
“We understand many questions remain about the events that took place in Newcastle on April 24,” KCSO spokesperson Brandyn Hull said. “An investigation such as this takes time, and our detectives are working diligently to try and piece together what led to this incident. Until this work concludes, the Sheriff’s Office won’t have any further updates.”
The Renton Reporter is still working to verify information that Harshavardhana Kikkeri alongside Shwetha Panyam were the owner of an India-based AI tech company, HoloWorld, according to information from Indian news agencies Deccan Herald and Star of Mysore, both based in Mysore, India, where they report Harshavardhana Kikkeri is from. According to Star of Mysore, Harshavardhana Kikkeri worked at Microsoft for several years building robots before he and Panyam began HoloWorld.
