Federal Way teens reportedly involved in fatal Pierce County shooting

Todd Beamer High School student had been expelled for bringing a firearm to school.

A second Federal Way teen has been charged for his alleged involvement in a fatal shooting at a March house party.

According to charging documents from the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office, Christopher Lee Cobb, 18, whose last known address was in Federal Way, was charged on April 21 with first-degree assault for his role in a March 29 Pierce County shooting at a house party that left two dead and four injured. A second teen, Isaiah Davion Williams, 17, whose last known address was in Federal Way, was charged as an adult on March 31 with two counts of first-degree murder and second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.

Documents state that both teens were students at Todd Beamer High School in Federal Way.

According to documents, at about 12:24 a.m. March 29 in the 17000 block of 25th Avenue Court East in Pierce County, Williams is seen on a video shooting directly into the chest of Joaquin Ramirez, 15, and then on the video, the second victim, Hector Gonzalez-Valdez, 19, is seen shooting at Williams as Williams falls to the ground. Documents state that Ramirez fell and stopped moving shortly after he was shot, and Gonzalez-Valdez was then shot at, but he fled the scene as he shot back.

Documents state that witnesses said before the shooting, Ramirez seemed to be having a dispute, and there was fighting. However, documents state that video footage showed that before the shooting, Ramirez and Williams had made up. Documents state that about a minute after it seemed like Ramirez and Williams had made up, Williams began shooting.

Documents state that during this, Cobb is also seen on camera discharging a firearm. According to documents, Cobb could be seen on video running during the shooting and then shooting toward Gonzalez-Valdez.

According to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office, Ramirez’s cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds to the chest, and the manner of death was homicide. The office reported that Gonzalez-Valdez’s cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest, and the manner of death was homicide.

Documents state that Ramirez and Gonzalez-Valdez were both found possessing firearms at the scene of the shooting. According to documents, Ramirez was found deceased with a gun in his waistband, and when Gonzalez-Valdez was assessed by law enforcement before he was transported to the hospital, he was found to have a gun in his pocket.

Documents state that Gonzalez-Valdez died after emergency surgery was attempted. According to documents, four others were also injured.

Documents allege that Cobb, with intent, inflicted great bodily harm to assault Gonzalez-Valdez intentionally. Documents allege that Williams, with premeditated intent, caused the deaths of Ramirez and Gonzalez-Valdez.

According to documents, Cobb was identified through video description, and then his known photos were matched to him. Documents state that Cobb was a student at Todd Beamer High School, but he only attended online classes because he had been expelled from the school for a year due to bringing a firearm to school.

Documents state that after detectives were able to identify Cobb through speaking with a Federal Way Police Department officer, his arrest was coordinated. Documents state that on April 17, Cobb was under surveillance and was seen leaving his apartment on Campus Drive, and he was then followed.

Documents state that the vehicle Cobb was in was stopped near the intersection of 287th Street and Soundview Drive South in Des Moines, and he was taken into custody without incident.

Cobb’s bail was set at $100,000, and he is currently not booked into Pierce County or King County jail. Williams’ bail was originally set at $2 million, but was later reduced to $1 million. He is currently being held at Remann Hall in Tacoma.
