Man killed in Federal Way at the Avana Star Lake Apartments

Federal Way Police attempting to locate the suspect after reports of a shooting

A man was killed early Thursday morning, Sept. 19 in Federal Way.

At 1:01 a.m. Sept. 19, Federal Way Police officers responded to a report of a shooting at the Avana Star Lake Apartments at 2211 S. Star Lake Road. At the scene, officers located a vehicle that had crashed into several other vehicles, according to the police department.

Inside the vehicle was a man in his late 20s or early 30s with life-threatening injuries. Lifesaving measures were attempted by police and fire personnel, which were ultimately unsuccessful, and the person was pronounced deceased.

The department reported that attempts to locate possible suspects and witnesses are ongoing, and detectives are on the scene conducting an investigation.
