Suspects fire multiple rounds at parked vehicle in Federal Way

See the video: The shooting occurred March 16 at an Arco gas station on Pacific Highway near Kent

A Federal Way gas station, near the city of Kent border, was left with various bullet holes on a pump and the canopy structure after three people shot at a parked vehicle.

At about 4:27 a.m. March 16, there was a report that at an am/pm Arco gas station, 27202 Pacific Highway S., three suspects shot multiple firearms at an occupied vehicle, according to the Federal Way Police Department.

Footage of the incident was shared with The Federal Way Mirror newspaper by the owner of the gas station, but he did not wish to comment due to safety reasons.

“It appears at this time that two subjects were at the gas station and likely recognized another subject that entered the parking lot in a vehicle,” according to Federal Way Police Cmdr. Kyle Buchanan. “The two subjects began firing at the subject in the vehicle.”

According to Buchanan, the case is still under investigation, but he’s sure more facts will come to light. He said there were no known injuries, and the victim did not report the shooting to police.

Buchanan said the investigation will determine the crime the suspects could be charged with, but charges could range from felony assault to an illegal discharge of a firearm. He said it’s ultimately the prosecutor who will determine the charges when the case is referred to their office.

“This does not appear to be a random shooting. We have been in contact with the business owners and are partnering with them for solutions to address concerns about crime in the area,” Buchanan said. “We are actively investigating this incident and will hold the suspects accountable for their dangerous actions.”
