Teen on stolen dirt bike dies in Auburn collision

No arrests have been made in the incident, according to the Auburn Police Department.

A 17-year-old who was reportedly driving a stolen dirt bike died in a traffic collision on Jan. 5 in Auburn.

According to the King County Medical Examiner’s Office, Micah F. McDaniel, 17, died as a result of multiple blunt force injuries received in the crash.

According to the Auburn Police Department, the fatal two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Auburn Way South and Southeast 368th Place at approximately 8:57 p.m. Jan. 5.

Kolby Crossley, spokesperson for the Auburn Police Department, said McDaniel was operating a stolen dirt bike with no lights or illumination, and was driving at night. He collided with a vehicle and died.

No arrests have been made in the incident, according to the department.

The driver of the vehicle is cooperating with police investigation into the incident, according to Crossley. The driver demonstrated no impairment.

Investigation found McDaniel was also in possession of a firearm at the time of the crash. Investigation into the collision continues.
