Wrong way driver collides with motorcycle on Auburn freeway ramp

June 24 hit-and-run injures motorcyclist on eastbound State Route 18 on C Street exit ramp

A hit-and-run on June 24 in Auburn injured a 43-year-old Auburn woman after a vehicle reportedly driving the wrong way collided with her motorcycle.

The Washington State Patrol received a report of a serious motorcycle collision at approximately 4:34 p.m. on eastbound State Route 18 to C Street in Auburn.

Upon arriving at the scene, troopers saw a woman with a “severe” leg injury on the ground, according to the State Patrol. A trooper applied a tourniquet her injury, with first responders arriving on scene and continuing emergency medical aid.

A helicopter airlifted the subject to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

According to the State Patrol, investigation of the incident determined the motorcyclist encountered the offending vehicle driving the wrong way, up the ramp, on the exit to C Street. The sedan driver reportedly crossed the center line and struck the side of the woman’s motorcycle, prior to fleeing the scene, with the woman’s motorcycle arriving at a stop on the right shoulder.

The State Patrol have requested the public’s assistance for further information regarding the incident.
