Adam Shane Terhune

Adam Shane Terhune passed away unexpectedly in Kent on September 14, 2014. Born September 26, 1975 to Robert and Deborah Terhune, Adam was known for his huge heart and willingness to help others in their time of need. His absence will be felt in the lives of many.

Adam was a seemingly quiet presence upon your first meeting, but soon the jokes would start flowing and laughter filled the room. Those who knew Adam quickly recognized the importance of family in his life and his dedication to those he loved. He rarely missed a family gathering or a chance to help out a friend.

Adam loved children and went out of his way to make them smile and laugh. Roughhousing, thoughtful presents and a good dose of teasing were part of Adam’s unique charm. Adam reserved a special place in his life for his dogs and other animals; none had ever had it so good.

Adam came from a long line of homebuilders and leaves many examples of fine craftsmanship behind. He was also a skilled landscape designer, creating beautiful areas around the homes of those who requested his services. Adam enjoyed gardening on a personal level as well, and spent much of his time in pursuit of his own. His favorite pastime though, was fishing, anytime and anywhere.

Adam, a beloved son, brother and father was preceded in death by his father Robert C. Terhune Jr., grandmother Camilla Terhune Dorothy, and grandfathers Robert C. Terhune Sr., and John E. Brust. He is survived by his daughter Jordan, mother Deborah Compton, stepfather George Compton, grandmother Doris Lee, brothers Robert (Tara) and Ryan (Kimberly) Terhune, Scott (Heather) and Chad Compton, sister Katie (Cameron) Cowles, nieces Tahlia, Tiffani and Macie and nephews Robert, Jack and Luke.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 27,

1 p.m. at the home of George and Deborah Compton.
