Margaret L. Edwards, 86, of Bremerton passed away 5/31/09.She was born to the late Raymond and Mae Bourgette, February 4, 1923, in Seattle, WA. She graduated from Bremerton High School and married the late Richard (Dick) D. Edwards in 1942. They were married 47 years. Margaret (Peggy) was a loving wife and mother who enjoyed sewing and cooking. She belonged to several Bridge groups. She and her husband Dick enjoyed dancing and belonged to a local dance club. She was an active volunteer of the Overlake Orthopedic Hospital Building Drive and Auburn High School PTA. She worked periodically at the Bremerton Naval Shipyards, at Kasper’s Apparel in Auburn, and at Mervyn’s in Factoria. Peggy is survived by her four children: Dave Edwards of Bellevue, WA, Rick Edwards of Bremerton, WA, Donald Edwards of Lake Tapps, WA, and Christine Licciardi of Bellevue, WA. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Joanne Downey of Scappoose, OR. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. A graveside service will be held at 12:30 pm. Friday, June 5, 2009 at the Sunset Memorial Park in Bellevue, WA. (425-274-0049). A reception will be held at the home of Dave Edwards (425 643-1297) following the ceremony.
