Muriel Mercedes Erickson Hanlon
Muriel Mercedes Erickson Hanlon passed away on May 29, 2016. She was born in Kansas City on June 19, 1930 and was raised in Whiting, Indiana. She received a Bachelors in Education at Albion College in Michigan and a Masters at University of Michigan.
Muriel met her husband, Dr. Russell Hanlon on a choir bus and they moved to St. Charles, Missouri. After Russell died of cancer in 1970, leaving Mercedes with
3 young children, she returned to teaching and guidance counseling.
She moved to Kent in 2001 and enjoyed singing, gardening, competitive flower arrangement, quilting, Bible Study and her dog, Wags.
Muriel is survived by 3 children and 3 grandchildren. She will be buried with Russell in Wayland, Michigan.
