Votisek and Vaisese are making a difference for the Kentwood unified team.

The Kent Reporter’s female athletes of the week for the week of Jan. 26 is Kentwood High School sophomore Ness Votisek and junior Kiele Vaises, unified basketball.

What is your favorite subject/class in school?

Ness: American Sign Language Kiele: Math

Ness: It, ET, Toy Story, Jumangi Kiele: Nightmare before Christmas, Howls Moving Castle, My Neighbor Totoro, Finding Nemo

Who is the person in your life that has helped you succeed the most?

Ness: My Mother Kiele: My mom

You’re on a long road trip, you stop at a gas station. You get one drink and one snack. What are you choosing?

Ness: Sprite and spicy Cheetos. Kiele: Water and peanut M & Ms

Describe your pre-game ritual:

Ness: I visualize what I am going to do Kiele: Listen to music

Song you currently can’t stop listening to?

Ness: When I was your man- Bruno Mars Kiele: Bad Romance- Lady Gaga

From the sidelines: Ness: From her first practice, Ness took on the role of a positive and supportive leader. She goes out of her way to make everyone feel welcomed, included and inspired. We are so glad to have her on Kentwood’s unified team. Kiele: She is one of the hardest workers we know. She comes out to practice with a smile and never complains about what we are doing. She’s positive with the other players and a joy to be around. We’re very excited to have her as a part of the Kentwood Unified team.
