PREPS OF THE WEEK: Oct. 29 edition

KIANA KRAFT, Kentwood

Grade: Senior.

Sport: Soccer.

Accomplishment: Kraft found the back of the net in three straight games, all of which were Kentwood victories, as the Conquerors clinched a top-3 finish in the South Puget Sound League North Division.

Favorite class: Web Design.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: My best friends Liz, Andrea and Morgan. We would have Applebee’s mozzarella sticks and Berry Sherbert.

Greatest athletic moment: Getting first-team All-State last year.

Most recent book read/author: “The Lovely Bones” by Alice Sebold.

What’s currently playing on your iPod: The Script.

Also noted: Kraft will be playing soccer next year at Seattle University.

ALEX CARROLL, Kentlake

Grade: Senior.

Sport: Golf.

Accomplishment: Carroll carded a two-day total of 158 in medalist tournament, which proved to be good enough for eighth place and a berth in the state tournament, which is set for the spring.

Favorite class: Sports Medicine.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: (Comedian) Dane Cook. I would serve a chicken sangwhich (a reference to Dane Cook’s act), hot tasty French fries and Kool-Aid.

Greatest athletic moment: Qualifying for the state golf tournament and medaling against Kentwood when we beat them last year for the first time in school history.

Most recent book read/author: “Be the Ball” by Charlie Jones and Kim Doren.

What’s currently playing on your iPod: Eminem, Jack Johnson, Dave Matthews Band, Sublime, Kings of Leon.

Also noted: Carroll sports a 3.859 grade-point average and plans on pursuing a career in the sports medicine field.

CATHERINA LI, Kentwood

Grade: Freshman.

Sport: Golf.

Accomplishment: Li took second place at the medalist tournament last week, carding a two-day total of 149 at Bremerton’s Gold Mountain Golf Course. The score helped Li earn a state berth.

Favorite class: English.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: Ellen DeGeneres because she’s my favorite person in the whole world. I would serve any type of pasta. I love carbs!

Greatest athletic moment: Two-putting the last hole to shoot a 76 and medal at the U.S. Girls qualifier.

Most recent book read/author: “Perfect Match” by Jodi Picoult.

What’s currently playing on your iPod: Bruno Mars, Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, Jack Johnson, Ne-Yo.

Also noted: Li is just as good in the classroom as she is on the golf course as she sports a perfect 4.0 grade-point average.

HANNAH KIM, Kentridge

Grade: Sophomore.

Sport: Golf.

Accomplishment: Kim carded a two-day total of 164 at the medalist golf tournament, which was good enough for sixth place and a berth to the state tournament in the spring.

Favorite class: Honors English.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: I would invite Keisha and serve spaghetti.

Greatest athletic moment: When Y.E. Yang beat Tiger Woods in the 2008 Masters.

Most recent book read/author: “City of Glass” by Cassandra Claire.

What’s currently playing on your iPod: “Without You,” by Breaking Benjamin.

In 10 years I will be … : An engineer working for Boeing or Microsoft and traveling to different countries to play golf during vacation

Also noted: In her spare time, Kim plays in flute recitals at retirement homes for community service.

RUBY VIRK, Kent-Meridian

Grade: Freshman.

Sport: Cross country.

Accomplishment: Virk ran a 19:37.3 time at the sub-district meet last weekend at Fort Steilacoom Park, which was a personal best by three seconds and was good enough to earn a berth in the district meet this weekend at American Lake Golf Course in Tacoma. Favorite class: World Studies.

If you could invite anyone in the world to dinner, whom would you invite, and what would you serve: (Olympic speedskater) JR Celski because he is my inspiration in sports. … I would serve Mexican food because that’s what I hear he likes.

Greatest athletic moment: I don’t think I really have only one greatest athletic moment because I have great athletic moments every day.

In 10 years I will be … : Hopefully a Diagnostics. My dream is to become a doctor when I grow up, just like in the show “House.”
