Kent’s Stefano Langone to perform Tuesday night on ‘American Idol’ among top 12 men

Kent’s Stefano Langone will appear Tuesday night on “American Idol” as one of the top 12 male contestants.

Viewers will determine which men move on. Viewers will be able to vote by phone, text or online through Facebook.

The program runs from 8-10 p.m. Tuesday on Fox. The top 12 women perform Wednesday. The results show airs Thursday night when the list of contestants is expected to be narrowed to 10 (five men, five women) from 24.

Langone is expected to sing Tuesday night a rendition of “Just The Way You Are” by Bruno Mars, according to www.joesplaceblog.com, which comments regularly about “American Idol.”

Langone, 21, a Kentwood High School graduate, advanced last week to the top 24.

“I’m going to be in the live show, oh my goodness, gracious that’s crazy,” Langone said on the show last week after the judges told him he had advanced.

Prior to the annoucement, Langone told judges Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson about his expectations of making the top 24.

“I’m very anxious but I feel in my heart that I am here for a reason and I am singing for a reason and I can do it,” Langone said.
