Kent’s Stefano Langone will return Wednesday night to the season finale of “American Idol” to perform with the other top 13 finalists.

Langone is expected to sing with the other male finalists in a number with Tom Jones, according to www.americanidolnet.com.

Either Scotty McCreery or Lauren Alaina will be announced as the winner on the Fox show after viewer votes are counted. The show airs at 8 p.m.

Langone, 22, was eliminated from the “American Idol” show April 21 after advancing to the top seven. He was in the bottom three for the fourth time in five weeks but failed to survive after more than 52 million votes by viewers.

The top 11, including Langone, earned spots on the “American Idol Live” nationwide tour that will feature solo and duet sets. The tour comes July 8 to Everett’s Comcast Arena.

Langone, a Kentwood High School graduate, will be on the Rachael Ray Show at 3 p.m. Wednesday on KIRO TV, Channel 7. He joined former contestants Pia Toscano and Paul McDonald for a cook-off competition. The Kent singer cooked up a Mexican/Italian Mac and Cheese, according to www.rachaelrayshow.com.

“I’m half Spanish, half Italian,” Langone said, “so you have to mix it up a little bit!”
