The acoustic soul and folky pop of LeRoy Bell and His Only Friends kicks off the city of Kent’s Thursdays at the Lake free concerts from 7-8:30 p.m. July 7 at Lake Meridian Park, 14800 S.E. 272nd St.

Bell, of Seattle, wows audiences with his passionate vocals. He has opened for B.B. King, Al Green, Los Lonely Boys, Keb Mo, Taj Mahal, Kenny Loggins and others. He’s written songs for Elton John, Johnny Mathis, the Temptations and The O’Jays.

The Thursdays at the Lake concerts continue through Aug. 11.
