Grand opening of Red Lion in Kent on March 7

The Red Lion Inn & Suites in Kent will have a grand opening event at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, March 7.

Food and beverages will be provided along with door prizes. The hotel is at 25100 74th Ave. S. Kent Mayor Suzette Cooke will officially welcome the new hotel with a ribbon cutting at 4 p.m.

Red Lion took over the former Quality Inn and Suites. The new owners spent about $600,000 in renovations to the 60 guest rooms, public spaces and the exterior of the hotel.

The hotel offers free hot breakfast, free wireless, an indoor pool, an exercise room and meeting space that can accommodate approximately 40 people.
