T-Birds announce regular-season schedule; home opener is Sept. 20 against ‘Tips

The Seattle Thunderbirds today announced their 2014-15 regular-season schedule, opening the Western Hockey League slate at Portland on Friday, Sept. 19.

The T-Birds return to home ice the following night to face the Everett Silvertips at 7:05 at the ShoWare Center. The T-Birds defeated the Silvertips 4-1 in a best-of-seven, first-round playoff series last season.

The season includes 16 home games on a Saturday, nine home games on a Friday, eight home games on a Tuesday, two home games on a Sunday and one home game on a Thursday.

Seattle will take on the Winterhawks six times at the ShoWare Center.

The Edmonton Oil Kings, last season’s league and Memorial Cup champions, will be at the ShoWare Center on Oct. 30.

The T-Birds will have a six-game road trip to the East Division starting Nov. 7 in Prince Albert.

Ticket deals

Fans who purchase a 24-flex ticket package before the deadline will receive two free tickets to the home opener against Everett. The deadline is June 30.
