Kent Police arrest 27-year-old man for stabbing at north Kent business

Kent Police arrested a 27-year-old man for investigation of second-degree assault in connection with the stabbing of a co-worker at a north Kent business.

Officers responded just before noon Sept. 18 for a reported stabbing during a dispute between two employees at Ecco Heating Products, 20001 87th Ave S., in the industrial area of north Kent.

An employee stabbed a 21-year-old co-worker with a razor box cutter, according to a Kent Police media release. Other employees intervened and were able to hold the suspect down until patrol units arrived.

The victim, who was said to be conscious and breathing, was transported to the hospital by a fellow employee prior to first responders getting on scene. He suffered injuries to his right eye, on the eye lid, according to police.

The fight reportedly started over the usage of a fork lift in the warehouse. The arrested man had worked at the company for about 18 months. Police didn’t have a hometown of the arrested man but the injured man lives in Tacoma.

Police have not released the names of the employees.
