Kent home prices were up 12.1 percent in February compared to the same month in 2014. Sales were up 5.6 percent.

In welcomed news for buyers, new listings were up 25.2 percent from a year ago, with 149 homes coming on the market in February, according to a report by Redfin, a Seattle-based real estate company.

The data is from February only and reflects an unvarnished timely snapshot of the market.

The numbers in February compared to February 2014:

• Prices up 12.1 percent

• Median price $285,000, including $297,875 for single-family; $207,000 for condos and townhomes

• 95 homes sold

• Homes spent a median 29 days on the market

• Sales up 5.6 percent
