Green River College students ring in Lunar New Year | SLIDESHOW

Green River College students celebrated Lunar New Year last Friday evening with a party in the new Mel Lindbloom Student Union, which opened earlier in the week.
The event included performances from various student groups as well as the LQ Lion Dance Team, based out of Co Lam Pagoda in Seattle.
A dance party and casino night followed the performances.
Monday marked the beginning of the Year of the Monkey, the ninth of the 12-year cycle of animals that appears in the Chinese zodiac related to the Chinese calendar.
