Kent closes portions of 148th Avenue SE and 76th Avenue South due to flooding

The city of Kent closed portions of 148th Avenue Southeast on the East Hill and 76th Avenue South in the valley on Thursday morning because of water over the roadway after heavy rainfall.

The closure of 148th Avenue Southeast is between Southeast 256th Street and Southeast 249th Street. Detours are posted at 148th Avenue Southeast and Southeast 240th Street as well as at SE 240th Street and 156th Avenue SE.

The closure on 76th Avenue South is between South 212th Street and South 228th Street.

It is unknown when the streets will reopen, according to the city Public Works Department.
