Chargers zap Raiders for 3-1 start

James Billotti drove in three runs and Garrett Wong, Kody Darcy and Jaques Travers each drove in two more, powering Kentridge High to an 11-0 rout of visiting Thomas Jefferson in a five-inning North Puget Sound League cross-divisional baseball game last Friday.
The Chargers are off to a 3-1 start. They play Mount Rainier in a back-to-back, home-and-away series this week. Results were unavailable at press time.
Against the Raiders, the Chargers unleashed 13 hits, fueled by triples from Wong and Darcy and a double from Travers.
Starter Cameron Hale went four innings, struck out three and walked one to get the win, and Nolan Sparks pitched an inning of relief, capping a combined two-hit shutout.
Elsewhere, Jake Moore drove in two runs for Kentwood in a 6-5 nonleague loss to visiting South Kitsap last Saturday. The Wolves scored the winning run on a wild pitch in the 13th inning.
The Conquerors (1-2) play a pair of games against Tahoma this week.
Kentlake is off to 4-0 start after beating Federal Way 6-5 on the road behind a four-run seventh inning last Friday.
Nik Hendrickson had two RBIs and Colton Yanzick doubled and drove in two more runs for the Falcons.
