Matt Franceschina drove in two runs and combined with starter Dyson Johnson and Cole Trotignon on the shutout as Kentwood defeated Kennedy Catholic 9-0 in a North Puget Sound League Cascade Division baseball game at Hogan Park at Russell Road on Monday.

The Conquerors improved to 4-2 in the division, 6-4 overall. The Lancers dropped to 2-5 and 4-8.

Johnson went three innings, allowing a hit and striking out three. Trotignon went an inning before Franceschina pitched the last two innings, striking out three and giving up a hit.

Johnson, Trotignon, Nate Franceschina, Jake Moore and Ryan Lawyer each drove in a run.

Elsewhere

Kentridge jumped out to a 6-1 lead and went on to beat previously unbeaten Kentlake 9-1 in NPSL Cascade play at Hogan Park on Tuesday.

The Chargers improved to 7-1 and 10-3, while the Falcons dropped to 7-1, 12-1.

Mike Callia drove in a pair of runs for Kentridge. Kody Darcy went 3 for 3, batted in a run and scored three runs. James Billotti went 2 for 4, doubles and scored twice.

Callia started but Cameron Hale finished, throwing six scoreless innings, allowing five hits and striking out six.

On Monday, Dylan Mackie threw a complete-game, six-hitter, striking out six, as Kentlake downed Kentridge 2-0 at Hogan Park.

Nik Hendrickson tripled and drove in a run for the Falcons.
