Local firefighters douse detached garage and shop fire

A Saturday morning fire heavily damaged a detached garage and shop in the 22600 block of 119 Avenue Southeast, the Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority reported.

When firefighters from the Puget Sound and Renton RFAs arrived after receiving a call around 11 a.m., they found one-half of the building fully engulfed in flames. Fortunately, the main house was 25 feet away and was not damaged by the fire, the Puget Sound RFA said.

There were no reported injuries, and the fire is under investigation.
