Olsen becomes new president of Kent Rotary

Kent Rotary swore in its new president, Erik Olsen, along with its officers and board of directors Tuesday.
Olsen succeeds the outgoing president, Don Gregory.
Olsen is an attorney at Hanis Irvine Prothero in Kent, focusing on personal injury litigation, with an emphasis in motor vehicle accidents, criminal defense and traffic infractions.
He graduated with honors from the University of Washington in 2007 with a degree in philosophy and received his juris doctor degree from Gonzaga University School of Law, graduating magna cum laude.
At Gonzaga, Erik was an associate editor for Gonzaga’s Law Review and Journal of International Law, was awarded 3L Associate Editor of the Year and worked in the legal assistance program, providing pro bono services to the local community.
Olsen has held most of the positions for the South King County Bar Association and is also a member of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Washington State Association for Justice and the King County Bar Association.
Olsen has also assisted Kentwood High School’s mock trial team and been a mentor in the Communities in School program in the Kent School District.
